Lash Lift vs Extensions: Which One Is Right for You?

Most people who message me already know they want their lashes done. What they don't know is which one they want. If you’re deciding between a lash lift vs extensions, the biggest differences are upkeep, fullness, and how often you want to come back.

So let's make it simple.

Lash Lift: Working With Your Natural Lashes

A lift takes your own lashes and curls them from the root. Nothing gets added. I tint them at the same time, so they read darker and fuller without anything sitting on top.

The tint is included. So are your bottom lashes.

You wash your face like normal. You sleep however you sleep. There's no fill to keep up with. It lasts about six to eight weeks, then grows out on its own.

If your natural lashes already have decent length and you just want them actually to show up — a lift is usually your answer.

What a lift can't do is add length that isn't there. If your lashes are short or sparse, lifting them makes them look neater and more open. Not longer. I'd rather tell you that before you're in the chair.

Extensions add what isn't there

Extensions go on one lash at a time, onto each of your own. A full set runs about two and a half hours.

And it isn't just length. I map the set to your eye shape, so it opens your eye up instead of only making everything longer. Then you come back every two to three weeks for a fill. If you want more than what you have — real length, real fullness, a shape — that's extensions.

Lash Lift vs Extensions: What’s the Difference?

How much do you want to think about your lashes? A lift you basically forget about. Extensions are a standing appointment.

Do you want more — or do you want yours, but better? That one sentence sorts most people on its own.

How often can you realistically get back in? Be honest here. Extensions look their best when they're filled on time. If every three weeks isn't going to happen, a lift will make you happier.

And if you pick wrong?

Nothing here closes a door. Lifts grow out. Extensions come off. Plenty of my clients have done both and landed somewhere they didn't expect.

If you're stuck, book a consultation. We sit down, I look at your natural lashes, and I tell you what I'd actually do.

I'll always tell you honestly what will and won't work for you — even when that means talking you out of something.

I'd rather do one set right than three in a rush. So my appointments aren't stacked on top of each other, and nobody gets moved along.

What it's like in the room

It's quiet. One chair, one person, door closed.

No music competing with anybody, no waiting area, nobody talking over you. You lie down, and for a couple of hours nothing is asked of you.

Most people fall asleep. That's allowed.

Ready?

Have a look at the full menu and pick the one that sounds like you. If you're still torn, book the consultation, and we'll figure it out together.
